North Carolina

Last weekend Doug and I went up to the cabin and did...nothing. The whole weekend was amazing and very beautiful. There is really not much to tell...Doug played his guitar, Dad played on the computer and Mom and I chilled out and talked. We also primed the steps going up to the loft. Here are some before and after pictures although I did not get a picture before I had ripped up the shag carpet that was stapled to each step!

Epiphany

I had two life changing epiphanies yesterday!

1.) People drink hot drinks (hot chocolate, cider, coffee) in the winter to warm up and cold drinks (icee, slush, ice cream, milkshake) during to summer to cool down.
Why are we trying to defy nature? When it is cold outside we frantically try to slurp down the hot drink so that it does not get cold and when it is hot we eat our ice cream as fast as we can before it melts. I propose that we reverse the trend and go with the flow rather that against it! Yesterday I had a cup of coffee while it was ninety degrees out. I set the cup on the top of my car and talked to my uncle for an hour. Lo and behold, when I returned my coffee was still hot! Ahh, although not cooling, VERY refreshing!!!

2.) Workout.... ever wonder where the term came from? Yesterday I put 1500 screws into the building (by myself...mwaahahaha hahhahahahahha...okay back to the epiphany). Later I was thinking that I should have worked out while I was still gross from ...... working outside ...... are you picking up what I am laying down? Okay I will explain!
Once upon a time there was a small family of country folk. They were healthy and fit. Although they worked very hard the family farm was not able to provide enough for the whole family. They moved to the city to find work. Once settled they realized that, although they had enough money, they were not as healthy or fit as they once were.
"Honey I miss working outside."
"Maybe we can pretend that we are working outside."
"How can we do that?"
"We can grab some bricks from the building next door and pick them up over and over again. We could shorten working outside to workout because it is a cheap excuse for the real thing!"

There you have it my friends... a glimpse into my thought processess for a day!

The Building

To make Maggie feel like she could help I had her hand me a nail everytime I yelled out "NAIL" in my very best red-neck, dirty, man yell!

Fishing in Texas

While I was in Texas this past time my mom, Brennah and I went fishing together! The story is self-explanatory!

Time

Life seems like such a whirlwind. Everyday is prescheduled and categorized. The whole system would fall apart should I fall behind schedule at any point during the week. You might think that I am exaggerating (which I tend to do) but I really am not. I don't feel overwhelmed or like I have to much to do just that I always have something to do. Because of this I feel like every day flies by in a whirlwind. When I get pregnant and we start our family I will need to change my present circumstances.

But for now....bring on the tornado!

Tired of Retail

I am sitting here at my desk, where I have been for the last eight hours, listening to three people complain about how long they have had to wait. Mind you, they called a few minutes ago demanding an appointment which I, in my very best receptionist voice, let them know that we could squeeze them in. The woman and her grandma had been here for ten minutes when the cousin/grandson came storming up the stairs where the following conversation ensued.

"They still haven't seen you?"
"No"
"B+**/-/s"
"I know"
"Do they know who you are? Bet they haven't ever had African royalty in their salon"

WHAT!!! How incredibly rude! Royalty schmoyalty... I don't care who you are. People of royal blood would never act like that. They should take Royalty Etiquette 101... I hear they are offering it a UGA right down the street.

The old lady even stood watching a stylist finish up with her last client while boring her beady little eyes into the back of the stylists head willing her to finish faster.

The boy, who has a grown out mohawk flopped to one side, threw up his hands with disgust and exclaimed "finally" when the "princess" was taken back.

Well, as pathetic as it is, at least I can vent on here instead of verbally expressing myself thus enabling the continuation of my job through the end of the day (and enabling the snobby "royalty" remain snobby unchecked)!
