Last night was the first night that I slept in my own bed in a week. I have worked overnight at the group home as well as house sat for several days. Tomorrow I sleep at work again... crazy!!!!
I wrote 60 pages of papers in the last 3 days. My brain is not functioning very well and you can only imagine the agony of blogging right now. There was an irrational debate in my head that lasted at least 5 minutes on whether or not to blog. It went something like this
Little white Natalie: I really should blog something... I have not done it in a long time
Little red Natalie: ARE YOU KIDDING?!!! You don't have to write ANYTHING for months.
Little white Natalie: Yeah I know but I will get so far behind and then my blog will get boring and then I wont even want to read it!
Little red Natalie: You should lay around and do absolutely nothing for days
Little white Natalie: I can't do that... I have finals coming up
Little red Natalie: Ehh... who cares about finals? You haven't been to class all semester and you have been fine up until now
Little white Natalie: But I have to make A's in my classes... after all, I want to graduate magna
Little red Natalie: Hah...magna! Who cares as long as you get a job when you graduate!!!
The conversation continued in this manner until it finally came back around to the subject of blogging and I let the "little white Natalie" win out so here I am.... blogging! Well, I am done now.

Lo and Behold
So I had an epiphany while walking to my car from class.
The phrase "sticks out like a sore thumb" usually refers to someone or something that is awkward or out of place... could also be known as an "upside down awkward turtle" (when something is REALLY awkward)!
Anyway, the light dawned on me and behold... an epiphany!
My thumb, as you know if you usually read my blog, is sprained. It also hurts very much and is most comfortable..... sticking straight out!!!!
A SORE THUMB THAT STICKS OUT!!!!!
You have no idea the mental relief this revelation has given me. I am like a whole new person! So much so, that I even bent my thumb a little!

Casting Room
Mom and I went to see the orthopedist today. It was the most uneventful trip I have ever taken. I diagnosed myself before he came in and the he just repeated me. When we were called to go to the back into the scary freezing cold rooms that house only bad news... I cringed on the trek to the unknown.
As soon as we were safely deposited in the examining room and the nurse was taking my BP there was a movement of the door handle. A nice woman pushing a wheelchair was coming in. She looked confused and disoriented as she said "I think that this is our room." The nurse apologized profusely to both parties and escorted us out of the room.
We followed her down the hall to the casting room where she left us instead of an examining room. We were happy... it was far warmer and more comfortable. So there the doctor found us in the company of three bags of dirty linens with our feet propped up on a stool and lounging and laughing.
The doctor came in and looked at my x-rays, jammed his fingers on my wrist, hand and knee until he had heard a sufficient amount of yelps of pain when he said "nothing is wrong with you and you are a liar!"
No, just kidding... but the diagnosis is not very much more exciting than nothing, sorry folks!
My wrist is sprained and has "soft tissue damage" yadayadayada... I have to wear a brace for a little while. I will have a MRI for my knee next week to check it out but that's it... other than a lot of bruises and aches.
Yeah I know... entirely uneventful and boring...what a waste of time!

Over the Bars
On Friday we all went to ride at the Bar H Ranch... Sean, Nina, Jon, Noelle, Tom, Holley, Erich, David and Jimmy. The trip was A-mazing! When we got there we all grabbed our bikes and hit the trails.
The first trail was a short and easy one that was only 2-3 miles just to get warmed up. After that we went to the trail with the hardest climb and longest downhills. We were cruising along... all at different paces of course... when I went the wrong way (aka I was too far behind the fast crowd to see where they had gone)! I went down the trail and immediately ran into the road and went both ways calling for people when I finally realized that they had turned a little ways back.
I then waited for the last few people to make sure that the people in the back knew where to go and then I took off again. I managed to get up the climb without too much trouble and reached the top where a crowd was waiting for the rest of us.
After we all arrived Nina told me to grab my bike and then she took off up the trail. I jumped on to follow. Erich was right behind me and I warned him that I frequently fall and for his sake he should hang back a little! As we road along Jimmy came flying past all of us and then Erich passed me so that he could catch Jimmy. At this point Erich was between Nina and I.
Nina rounded a corner and was not in sight. I saw Erich stand up and knew that a downhill was coming up. As I got closer I saw what was soon to be my fate... a 15 foot downhill with HUGE rocks and no place to go but over them. The sizes of the rocks ranged from large softballs to footballs.
As soon as I hit the rocks I knew that I was in way over my head.
I saw the ground come toward me like an old friend... only this time my friend was a lot harder than I it had been in the past. I went over the handlebars with a mighty force and landed on me hands first. After I had skidded a foot or two I rolled onto my right side wrenching my knee in the process and landed on my side after I had hit my back.
I went too stand up and grab my bike as I am accustomed to doing on a regular basis when I realized that things were not as dandy as they usually were. Dave came running to my side because he was behind me and saw the whole thing. We moved off the trail and started to inspect the damage. "Is that a bone?" asked Dave in reference to a huge lump that was now protruding out the side of my elbow. I extended my arm and pulled it in several time "nope... guess not" I replied!
My hands hurt like crazy and my knee was killing me... then the adrenaline kicked in! I looked down the hill and realized that Nina ate it at the bottom of the same hill when she lost her concentration trying to tell me to be careful and go slow (so much for that).
After a few minutes I hopped back on my bike and kept going. Everyone else hung around for awhile so I was by myself. Although I could feel pain it was not enough for me to be really concerned except that I was having a really hard time gripping the handlebars. I ate it 2 more times after that on easy sections just because I was timid and couldn't grip very well. When I got to the bottom of a big hill Jimmy and Erich had stopped to wait for everyone and they were a little ways off the trail.
Jimmy figured out that I was not doing too well so we slowly went back to the trail head. Later, Jimmy asked why my right wrist looked so funny. With my palm up, my hand was cocked to the inside by about 3-4 inches. It felt natural that way and looked really weird. I thought that my left thumb was broken because it hurt so much.
Noelle and I stayed at the truck for the rest of the time while everyone else went off to ride all the other trails... I was so jealous I could not stand it!
When we got home I went to the ER and stayed there for 5 hours with Dad. My wrist is in a splint and we don't know if it is broken. I will have more x-rays done by an orthopedist this week. My knee had, and has, a lot of fluid on it and was really sore... another referral to the orthopedist. My right thumb is sprained and black and blue but functional. The rest is just scratches and bruises!
My first REAL mountain biking crash! I am definitely hardcore now!!!!

Anne Shirley Says
"I never make the same mistake twice. There must be a limit to the mistakes that one person can make, and when I get to the end of them, then I will be through with them. That's a very comforting thought."
~Anne
This is now one of my favorite quotes!!! It is not necessarily always right but it is a nice little quote and I do hope that I learn enough from my mistakes that I can atleast recognize the same problems when they come up.

Just Thinking
I was thinking today about the implications of what God has planned for our lives and what and why he does some things. I have been confused on some things that God has called me to do and to live in but not to the point of doubting God's love for me.
Sometimes God calls us to live through things for reasons that we can't explain and that we might never understand. I will daily accept the things that God puts in my life and choose to know that He is good... bottom line. I choose not to doubt God but to live my life accepting the trials placed before me.
I do expect healing and and restoration for areas of my life and I have experienced that in the past. God does not necessarily fix us as soon as we ask for healing because sometimes we need to go through those things for ourselves and for the benefit of others.
People do not have to be sinning or doing something wrong for there to be trials in their lives. Sometimes, even though a person is doing everything right, there are still trials and illness. Who are we to question why? My trials are big to me because they are mine but not necessarily big to someone else. I can't understand things sometimes but I will live my life in peace knowing that God cares for me and loves me.
God puts trials in my life that I can't comprehend but even when things look too tough to get through God always pulls me through... not always the way that I see things working out but I am stronger and more adaptable for the things that have gone wrong in my life. This is why I know that God is GOOD even through the hard times!

Race
This morning Summer and I decided to spend the day together. Due to many circumstances... the day started at 1:30!
I was in my room with my dad figuring some things out on my computer when Summer came in to talk about today's plan. We decided to take quick showers and the go to a late lunch. I looked at Summer and, knowing that we are not the quickest people in the world, I realized that our "quick" showers would end up getting us out the door at 3:00.
I was standing in the middle of my room when I yelled "I can take a shower faster than you... LETS RACE... clothes too!!!" We both screamed (well I kinda yelled a little as she ran into me) and dashed for our respective bathrooms. Officially... the fastest shower I have EVER taken. I was determined to win. I kept thinking over and over that I was sure that I had lost because I accidentally washed my hair three times instead of twice. Those precious few seconds could have cost me the competition. I was mentally beating myself up as I jumped out of the shower and ran for Summer's bathroom.
Oh glory... I heard, through the door, the water shut off from her shower. "I WON" I yelled at the top of my lungs as I proceeded to do a victory dance. The sputtering and protesting was music to my ears. I laughed hysterically and victory danced myself back to my room where I gloated and patted myself on the back for, sadly enough, about ten minutes.
When she came into my room, with her clothes on, I was still in my towel. She pounded on my bathroom door and I opened it to a fully clothed (earrings too) Summer! "I won... you said clothes too!" I disagreed because I had told her through the bathroom door that we would leave it at that. "You can't change the rules cheater... I won, I won!"
We ended up calling a truce and decided that we had both won in our own way.
We laughed hysterically as I quoted myself on my favorite thing to say "I'm going to blog it!"

Biker Beast
I went mountain biking again today!!! We went to a different trail that is only 2 miles away... coincidence? I think not!
Today I road really hard and started to get more comfortable going over rocks and roots. I think that this is something that I could be really good at. I am not scared of falling which gives me an advantage and I love going fast. I am really excited about riding and I am going to be competing in the beginners bracket in the spring. This is something that Summer and I are doing together. Our first race is March 10! I am hoping to buy a bike tomorrow. The one I want is a really good bike and is totally cool. Here is a picture of it!

Because I have ridden motorcycles I am a little more coordinated on turns and such as I would have been if I had not. I am definitely going to have to build up some stamina though...haha!!!

Downhill Falling... I mean Biking...
On Sunday Jon, Noelle, Sean, Nina and I went to Grapevine to go mountain biking. It was crazy fun!!!
Within 5 minutes of strapping on our helmets, squeezing into our bike shorts and hopping on the saddle... I had flown of the front of my bike. Now you might think that I am being dramatic because sometimes I have a tendency to, let's say, embellish a few little details of my stories (the otter)! But this time I am dead serious. I thought that I was doing really well and that this whole biking thing was not as bad as I had pictured when I rounded the first bend and realized that I was very wrong.
My first segment of rocks and roots were quite terrifying... they started to taunt me and laugh at me as I rode up to them. I heard "Your gonna fall, your gonna fall" over and over again. Low and behold, I made it through. With my new found confidence I continued on the path of doom and went down a steep embankment with rocks and roots only to turn very sharply to the left at the bottom. The elation that I felt as I thought that I had cleared the series of high tech maneuvers (for a beginner atleast) quickly dissipated as I snagged the back tire on the side of the log and my bike stopped. No, not in a smooth "oops" type of a stop but a violent jerk which sent me pummeling over the handlebars and crashing into dirt, roots, rocks, and blood (produced by me of course).
Furtively glancing around, I made sure that no one saw me. I jumped back on my bike and continued on with a few scrapes and bruises but totally fine. As I pedaled on, Nina yelled back to see if I was okay and then she waited for me for a few seconds. I caught up with her and told her that I was fine and just had a little bit of a spill... after all, it's not like I almost died or anything!
I speed past her and decided to take the lead... bad idea! With Nina behind me she could see everything that I was doing. I came upon an 6 inch ledge that I popped my front tire up and over. Yes, I thought! Yet... things don't usually work out the way that I want them too. My back tire, again, snagged the ledge and violently stopped my bike and where did I go? Up and over... once again uncomfortably close to my friend the ground. More blood, scratches and bruises thought that they would join my ever swelling flesh.
To make matters worse, as I was brushing myself off and grabbing my bike, two "real" bikers came upon us and slowed down to see if I was okay. "I am fine" I said with a lot more confidence than I was feeling at the moment as I laughed it off and hopped on again.
On we went as I let Nina go in front of me so she could not witness my demise. My next fall came about because of a complicated series of rocks and crevices. My back tire... no just kidding, it was the front... fell into a crevice and I went careening over my handlebars. Noelle and Jon came up behind me with concern. Up until now I had portrayed the perfect beginner attitude with humility and respect. Now, I was angry!!! Every time that I got going I would end up with new rocks embedded in my skin and a mouthful of dirt.
After I had calmed down and continued on things got much better. Jon and Nina went on and got a "good ride" in. Noelle, the kind sister that she is, waited on me and turned back early so that we would have time to get back. We talked and joked the whole way back. I laughed so hard and smiled so much that, in the end, my cheek muscles hurt more than my "cheek" muscles.

The rest of our journey!
The next thing that we came upon was a town... err city?... which was out in the middle of the wide open plains. All you could see for miles was absolute nothingness and then all of a sudden... skyscrapers!
Now the point of building the ever so expensive skyscraper is to build up when there is no room to build out. I promptly turned to Dad and in a high pitched whiny child-like voice I said "Mommy, I went to be a real city... one with skyscapers!"
We stopped in El Paso to spend the night and when we got there I really wanted to go work out. I joined a very old man as the only occupants of the workout room and we proceeded to get into a deep conversation for over an hour... strange how things happen sometimes!
When I went back to our room Dad told me that there was no sample shampoo or conditioner. They had a bar of soap and that was all. I went and bought a sample bottle of shampoo out of the vending machine for $2.
We had to get up at 5:30 so we went to bed early. I layed in bed for three hours contemplating issues of life and was finally about to fall asleep when Dad started snoring. I don't just mean an irregular short snort every once in a while but the loud obnoxious kind that you hear in the movies. Are you kidding me? After he finally started to quit down and I was falling asleep a train went by really close to the hotel. So the rest of the night was a series of Dad snoring and the trains going by.
We got up at 5:45 to find that I had accidentally not packed any clothes to wear. How does one forget to bring clothes might I ask you? Anyway, I ended up wearing a pair of sweatpants and one of Jimmy's really big sweatshirts. Ehh... whatever!
The event was soo much fun. Dad and I had such a blast!!! As soon as we download the pictures I will post them.

First phase of trip!
Last weekend Dad and I went to New Mexico to go to the X Prize Cup! It is an event where private companies, as well as reps from NASA, put on a big event getting people interested in space and space travel. The idea is to start regular travel to space by private companies rather than just government funded programs.
We started off our trip late because I each a science class on Friday mornings. We left at 11:00am and headed west. After about an hour of driving the scenery changed drastically... and not for the better. Now I am not one to complain too much but Texas is not a state that is known for it's scenery. Actually, having grown up with atleast trees, I find this state quite ugly! West Texas is worse than just flat like where I live... it's flat and has no buildings or living organisms to break up the perfectly straight line of the horizon. Dad and I got in to a deep discussion about the implications of living there a hundred years ago. Yeah... not so much!
Despite the wretched atmosphere, Dad and I were both in great moods and enjoying ourselves immensely. When we had been on E for about 15 minutes and I was starting to experience a very small dose of Jimmy's intense paranoia about running out of gas we stopped for gas. It was the smallest town I think that I have ever seen. We could not figure out where anyone lived or where they ate or shopped or anything and mind you, there is not much landscaping to block you view of these things.
I went in to go to the bathroom and I had been driving so I tossed the keys on the front seat. Dad finished up pumping the gas and, figuring he would make a quick stop in the bathroom as well, promptly locked the car door and went inside. Yeah... we were in the middle of Texas, 4 hours from home and again... smallest town I have ever seen.
We looked up a locksmith in the phone book, maintaining our high spirits the whole time, and called him to come help us out. We were a little worried about the cost but it was only $35 for him to come out. We got the car open and were on our merry way only $35 dollars down when Dad realized that he had left his sunglasses on the roof of the car. So what had only been a $55 dollar stop, including gas, turned into a $155 dollar stop. "Oh well" Dad said... "I really want some of those new [insert high tech verbiage] sunglasses anyway!" Apparently they are made with NASA research data and are supposed to be really good. So, still in great moods, we continued on our trip!!!
I found it!!!
It's official... I am now a virgin!!!
Today, Summer and I went shopping and I have been looking for my virginity for quite a while now. I went through the last few years of my life in pursuit... traveling, shopping, eating, sleeping, working and nothing ever quite seemed to fit!
But, low and behold, today of all days... I have found it. Now, one would ask "why today of all days?" And one would answer "I have no idea!"
So I am hear to say thank you to my family, my roomies, my friends, my fans and the academy for supporting me in my decision to hold out!
So today I spent $30.00 on a ring that represents something that it is priceless!!!

Phenomenon
"WAKE UP... THE STREETS ARE FLOODED!!!"
This is what I woke up to this morning. Mom came rushing through the sorority rooms (Summer's, Meg's and mine) yelling for us to grab our keys and move our cars. If you don't already know, I am not the most alert person in the world when I first wake up! I had no idea what was going on and for just a half a second... I considered that Mom might actually be going insane. After all, we live in TEXAS... the land of no rain!!!
I slowly got up and, after acquiring the intense sense of urgency that the rest of the house seemed to have plenty of, I ran downstairs to observe the damage. As I stepped outside I could not believe what I was seeing... the street was covered in a foot and a half of water... not exaggerating!!!
What in the world? Summer and Meg had just moved their cars when I got downstairs and Sean was moving his as well. Sean's car was at the lowest point in the cul-de-sac and his car was flooded when he opened the door. Summers door skimmed the water as she carefully opened her car door. Thankfully, only Seans was flooded!
Very shortly after I got outside, the builder showed up and went pummeling across the body of stagnant water on our street. It was the first time that the street name, Stone Lake, actually fit!
He asked where the drain was and I directed him to the spot. He had to kick around to find it because the water was so deep and dirty that he would never have been able to find it otherwise.
He finally found it and proceeded to pull up the mesh grating that covered the drain. Because we are in a new subdivision there is a lot of dirt and not much grass. The grating was there to stop dirt from clogging the drain but instead, it stopped the water from draining.
When he had pulled it up the water from the whole cul-de-sac drained within 45 seconds. I considered getting up and going to class and then decided that it was time to go back to bed!

TV
Tuesday was my birthday and my family, including Summer, threw me a little party! We had so much fun. They grilled and and cooked for hours and the food was amazing.
Things have been really crazy lately but I am sure that is not news to anyone. I am working a lot and trying to keep up with school. I have this great opportunity to teach a science class to some kids from my church. I am really excited and can't wait to start.
Has anyone seen the new LOST? I am just going to say that shows that leave you hanging and not understanding anything suck. This is why I like Stargate! The show starts and concludes and is rarely to be continued. I LOVE Stargate, Battlestar Galactica, and Stargate Atlantis!!! I am so excited for Battlestar to start up TOMORROW!!!!!

Prayers Answered
Things have been really crazy here. I am now working 42 hours a week as well as going to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I am also trying to go to church at Gateway on Saturday nights as well as church and college group on Sundays. I am doing a home-based business called Arbonne which takes a little time. All of this while juggling homework, friends and family.
So needless to say I have been a little stressed lately with all that I am doing. On Tuesday night Noelle and I prayed for each other before we went to bed. I prayed blessings and safety over her and her family. She prayed that my life would be blessed and that "Natalie would only have as much as she can handle and that if there is too much on her plate I ask that you would just have someone cancel something."
The next morning at 7:45am I was leaving for work when my boss called and said not to come in that day... Weird but I will take it! On Thursday I woke up and at 8:00am I was leaving for school when I said "I don't want to go to school... I think that I will just skip!" Of course I said this in jest but as soon as the words had been spoken, the devious plan would not leave my mind and very quickly turned into reality. I didn't need to turn anything in and I didn't have anything important to do at school so I skipped all day. On Friday I got up to go to work and drove all the way to Southlake but when I got there my boss asked "oh, you didn't get my message?" Yep... work was canceled.
Talk about God answering prayers. I told Noelle that she isn't allowed to pray for me anymore because I definitely can't afford it!!!

My Premium Parking Pass
Here is a picture of my college campus which accommodates 31,000 students. As you can probably imagine parking could be an issue if they did not handle the situation properly. Now at my last school I was Parking and Safety chair for SGA so I have had a little experience with the inner workings of the system that they call "parking." To avoid all of the hassles that I have experienced in the past I decided to spend the extra money and get a premium parking pass. Much to my horror, I spent my first day on campus missing my first class and driving around for the duration trying to find a place to park. Not the way I wanted to start off this semester! I decided that it would get better as soon as everyone was settled into their classes. After all, I did buy a premium pass!
The next day that I went to class I drove around for 40 minutes and finally saw a guy pulling out of a parallel spot. Unfortunately he was heading in the opposite direction that I was but I jumped in anyway and promptly got a ticket.
The next parking adventure I drove around for 30 minutes and finally resorted to metered parking. I spent 4 dollars parking in a metered spot despite my premium parking pass.
I found out that premium pass holders can also park in general so when I went to class on Tuesday, again, I drove around for 20 minutes and finally decided to just go park in the general parking area. When I got over there I was horrified to find that there were no open spots at all... or so I thought!
I continued driving further and further away from my classes when I finally came upon a patch of about 8 open parking spaces... on the other side of the football field. If you will glance at the picture of my campus, the football field is towards the bottom left hand corner of the map and is represented by an oval. Now if you will look again at the upper right hand corner to the building the furthest away you will find my first class!!! I don't think that I could walk further if I started from home!
I have since found out that the bookstore sells as many "premium" passes as students will buy. In other words there are about 10,000 students trying to park in 3,000 spaces!
So while I find this situation only slightly humorous, I will continue to attend school and park in a not so premium parking space with a good attitude because... what else can I do?!!!

Labor Day Weekend
I am just now getting a chance to blog about this past weekend! We had such a blast. Jimmy, Summer and I went to Georgia so that we could be there when Morgs got engaged!!! We left on Thursday night and on Friday we went skydiving. It was definitely one of the most A-mazing experiences of my life. I wasn't nervous at all which really surprised me. Jimmy and I are talking about getting certified so that we can jump all of the time.
We were supposed to jump early in the afternoon but didn't actually get to go until around 5:00. The boys (Dave and Doug) had to go first because we couldn't all go at the same time and the girls wanted to go together.
While we were waiting beside the plane we started talking to the guys that we were jumping with. I told mine that he could feel free to mess up because breaking my leg is also on my list of things to do before I die and that I could kill to birds with one stone... he told me I was psycho! Summers dude made a comment about impending death (he probably didn't word it that way but whatever) and I told him that there was no problem because we were going to heaven anyway.
When we got in the plane I kept anticipating that funny feeling in your stomach, slight shaking and in my case, teeth chattering but they never came. My little dude told me that when the doors opened that I needed to scoot forward and throw my legs through the doorway and then whenever I was ready roll out... so I did. We flipped around a few times and then stabilized for a 30 second free fall. It was freezing but A-mazing!!!
When the chutes were all pulled Summers guy pulled up next to us and we got to talk while falling in the sky! It never crossed my mind to be concerned about the approaching land once we had left the plane.
The next day, we all knew what was happening except for Morgan, we went rock climbing. Or more like bouldering because we had no ropes and the rock faces were only 30 feet high. We would stand under the people climbing so as to break there fall if need be. Twenty minutes after we got there Dave followed Morgs up the rocks and walked out of earshot to propose. I would tell you all that was said but... not really my place!
After that we all went back to the trailhead to surprise Morgs with an engagement picnic with family and friends. She had no idea that people were there other than our group. Then we went back to climbing... a little more carefully for Morgs because of the ring!
That night Kenya came and stayed at the Marietta house with us because we were going to Six Flags the next day. While the girls were downstairs talking the boys somehow snuck upstairs to worship. They didn't know it but we sat at the bottom of the stairs and listened and worshipped with them. It was awesome! They had 4 instruments going and they were singing their hearts out for several hours.
Kenya and I went outside to talk in the car because it was the only place with any privacy... until everyone joined us! Jimmy came out first and dove into the backseat. Next came Doug who joined him. Then came Summer who hopped in my lap in the drivers seat followed by Dave in the middle seat in the back. Last but not least, Morgs jumped on Kenyas lap to conclude a very squished car. Both seats were leaned back and there were 3 guys back there (in the Echo) that are over 6 feet. We accidently bumped the horn a few times and decided to get out since it was 3 am and they have neighbors.
The next day was awesome at Six Flags! We rode all the major rides that were open and just had a blast.
It was definitely an awesome weekend and I am so happy for you Dave and Morgan!!!

The Wonders of a New House
So moving in to a new house, just built, one would expect a certain level of standards such as water pressure from the shower head.
Summer and I are sharing a bathroom in our new house in Texas. The first time that I took a shower in, what was expected to be, my awesome new bathroom the water pressure was anything but what I expected. At first, the water came out normal but soon turned to a mere trickle down the wall. I turned the shower head off and on several times hoping that it was just new pipes that needed to fill and pressurize. Soon the shower head started working again but was barely dripping on me for the rest of my shower.
Summer took a shower next and later the subject came up of the quality of our showers. Hers, just like mine, was anything but normal. She didn't even get the half dripping squirts that I got. After smooshing her head against the wall trying to rinse the shampoo out of her hair, she finally gave up and just bent over and washed her hair out of the faucet. Needless to say, anything but pleasant!
My kind and wonderful brother came to the rescue to solve the problem. After jiggling and wiggling the shower head he decided to unscrew it and see what he could find. In the words of Maggie Griggs, he discovered a fresh mound of "bugots!" Yes, that would be bug guts in our shower head. Jimmy informed me that not only were their bugots their were also whole bugs and several unidentifiable parts and species as well. Not only could we not fully rinse the shampoo from our hair we had a fresh supply of bug guts in our hair to keep it silky and smooth all day long.

Kayaking
This morning Summer and I took the kayaks to the lake down the street for some exercise and fun. We went about thirty feet and stopped for water. It was so hot that we were practically falling over within minutes. So I am exaggerating a little... but it was hot and paddling is harder than I thought it would be. We saw some odd looking creatures on the other side of the lake and decided to go check them out. At first we thought that they were horses which we very quickly changed our minds to cows. As we got a little closer I said that I thought that they were donkeys. Sure enough... they were donkeys. After deciding that we were super cool in our kayaks and that we were sure that the students at the college overlooking the lake wanted to be us... we headed back! What a fun way to exercise! I am sure that we will continue to do so in the future.

Ride Home Continued
The next stop that we made was in New Jersey on the New Jersey Turnpike! We pulled into one of those huge stopping places with food, gas, coffee, shops and icecream. As we got in line for our (rather disgusting) pizza, two guys stepped in line behind us. Brekken was wearing a basketball shirt so one of the guys asked where she played. She told him that she plays at a small school in Georgia. He proceeded to talk about how nice the South is. Brekken was agreeing with him when I blurted out "actually we hate the North and we are trying to get down there as quickly as possible!" I don't know what came over me. Noelle thinks that subconsciously I wanted to get shot. After all, we were in a Northern state, surrounded by New Yorkers and they are definitely not known for being nice in the first place! The man in line in front of us stiffened and side glanced behind him but there was not a bad reaction from anyone else. In fact, the two men we were talking to proceeded to agree with us and laugh.
We continued on our way. Soon after I saw a sign for Taco Bell and proceeded to scream and yell and jump up and down for joy. Finally, hope for the near future of hitting a Southern state. Can you tell that we like the South?!!
Next we stopped for gas and icecream... it was 4:00am by now! The gas station that we stopped at did not have any icecream and by this time I was determined to find us some. We stopped at the next 24 hour station where there was a DQ inside. Of course it was closed but they had take home tubs in the freezer. Unfortunately the smallest size was a quart. That is a lot of icecream!!! We got two spoons and vowed to finish the whole thing. After 13 bites I told Brekken that I was through and couldn't eat anymore. Then I told her that she had to finish the whole thing because we had vowed to finish it and I wanted to blog it. She kept eating but made me have a few more bites. The only way that I convinced her to finish is because I told her that I would blog that she finished almost the whole thing and I really can't take credit for it at all.
I have decided that Brekken and Jimmy are getting married so I nag about it all of the time. So as soon as Kenya finished her icecream she said "if this doesn't make Jimmy fall in love with me I don't know what will!" I almost ran off the road because I was laughing so hard.
By the time we made it to SC we were both exhausted and so ready to be home. When we stopped at gas stations we thanked people for being Southern. It was so nice to see people that were just naturally kind. We don't appreciate the South as much as we should and I am glad that I got the chance to do so again. We then wrote a sign about how much we loved the South and taped it to the window!

Trip Home
I just spent the last 26 hours in a car! To say the least I am exhausted. Yesterday Brekken and I left camp at 12:30 to head back to the good ole South! We decided to drive straight through instead of stopping this time... we both really wanted to get home. Here are a few highlights of our trip.
1. We decided to play the license plate game but we only got 27... we saw a plate from Nova Scotia though!
2. We heard a Veggie Tales song that was really fast and decided that we would learn the whole thing before the end of the trip. I have now heard that song 6,000 times and still can't say all of the words in order.
3. In New York we were bored to death because of the traffic. We only traveled 3 miles in 2 hours. We decided to find something so as to entertain ourselves. While at camp, Brekken and I played chubby bunny so we decided that we would change a few rules and see how many pretzel sticks we could shove in our mouths. The rules were that you could not chew and you could only break each stick into two pieces. We started the slow process of breaking, counting and strategically placing. As we passed thirty I started to get the inkling that this was not such an amazing idea after all. We were gagging and laughing at the same time and I think that all of the people in the cars around us were probably scrambling for their phones to call someone to get the drunk people off the road! I stopped at 52 realizing that I could not force another granule of salt in my mouth much less a whole pretzel stick. I started the slow process of chewing the massive amount of white paste. Suddenly it occurred to me that Brekken wasn't slowly chewing but still cramming the little guys into her mouth... 60, 61, 65... she stopped on 72!!! I was ecstatic and horrified at the same time. Needless to say, when she tried to chew her mouthful of 5 SERVINGS OF PRETZELS, she soon realized that the task was not attainable. At this point we still haven't moved in about 10 minutes. To my horror, she promptly spit the entire wad into her hands... it filled them up all of the way. Having already finished mine I tried to help her figure out what to do. As I started my mental list of intelligent ways of disposing the mound, Kenya turns and dumps it on the highway... brilliant! Since we were still not moving we took a picture of the death of first place for Kenya had not chewed and swallowed thus disqualifying mound 72 and making me the winner.
4. Soon after the last incident, three guys in a little car were merging into our lane... or should I say into us! He wasn't even trying to cut us off he was just slowly moving us over. I don't know where he planned to move us but he was trying hard. Since the windows were down in both cars Kenya leaned out and politely asked "would you like to get over?" A look of complete shock crept over his face. He replied with "uh yeah." Then Kenya asked him if he would like any pretzels. Still appalled he said no thanks and the Kenya said "are you sure cause we've got pretzels!!!" I don't think that he could fathom Southern hospitality or humor! He looked at us like we were aliens and then proceeded to almost hit us as he moved in front of us!
This all happened by 7:00pm yesterday (Saturday)!
To be continued...
As I started my mental list of intelligent ways of disposing the mound, Kenya turns and dumps it on the highway... brilliant! Lack of Postage
So I know that I have only posted like three times this summer and I am sorry! I will do much better when I get back and have access to a computer...I promise. Things are still going really well but I am definitely ready to get home soon. I have until Saturday at 12:00 and then Brekken and I will be driving straight through to GA. Hopefully we will be there by around 10:00am! I cant wait to see all of y'all!!!!!!!!!
Right now camp is in the midst of Color War which is where the camp divides into 2 teams and competes in every sport and activity that you can think of! I have not seen my girls in days!
The Purple team (counselors) are in charge of running the games and for designing banquet. We are doing Merriwoodopoly. We have to paint huge sheets of paper and cover all of the walls in the dining room with "spaces" on the board. The idea is to make it a little world of Merriwood Monopoly. I will take tons of pictures and put them on here so that y'all can see the hours of slave labor that has been put into this one night!
See you soon!!!

Camp
Well... I am back at the Dartmouth library and it isnt closing for awhile! When we went to Lake Placid we got to sign in and register all of the athletes for the race. We had so much fun!!! They were all so nice and very appreciative of the volunteers. I have never been in a room with so many beautiful sets of calves! It has inspired me to workout a little more!
Things have been going so well at camp! I am having such a great time and this week is an especially fun one. I am going to have the night off tomorrow night with my co-counselor which is a first. She is from Australia and has definitely become one of my dear friends.
My girls have been A-mazing all year and I love them to death (or heaven just for you Mom)!
I have been going to a really small church up here that is, to say the least, a little slow. It is nice to go to church though and to be around other people that have the same beliefs as I do. Brekken, JB and I are the only Christians at camp!
My classes have been great and some of the kids are really motivated to actually learn something and it is nice to know that I can teach them a few things. I have learned that I LOVE coaching and I can understand why mom cant get away... like mother like daughter!!!
Last week I was so sick that I couldnt get out of bed for three days! It about killed me to not be able to work and be out there with my kids. I think that it also made me appreciate camp a little more.
Thank you for all of your prayers!!! Things are going so much better and I am having a blast!!!

Hey all!!! Well I am still alive and kicking. I hope that every one is doing well and I miss all of you heaps!
Camp is going well and I have stayed really busy. It has rained almost every day since I have been here but it is fun anyway! I am going on a trip at the beginning of next week. We are going whale watching which will be lots of fun. We are going to Portsmouth... don't ask me where that is! I am going with the 12 year olds which promises lots of drama!!!
Sorry this is so short but I don't have much time to post. I love everybody and miss y'all.

Lately
Wow...so much has happened since I last posted! The internet at camp is down so this is the first time I have been able to a computer.
D.C. was amazing!!! We went and saw all of the monuments and the Holocaust museum. We had such a blast. The first day we searched everywhere for a Starbucks all day and couldn't find one that was open. When we were on our way down the escalator to the Metro, I saw one out of the corner of my eye and turned around and ran back up to reach the ever coveted destination. I made it safely to the top but, unfortunately, Brekken did not fair as well. She tripped on the last three steps and fell! I laughed so hard I almost fell over. All that trouble and the Starbucks had been closed for hours.
We got to camp Tuesday evening. I got my cabin... the 15 year olds... and we have had sooo much fun!!! They are crazy and loud and A-mazing! I have had a lot of fun but I have missed all of y'all very much! If you have time please e-mail me your address so that I can write you (nataliessutton@yahoo.com)!
Please keep me in your prayers!

Weekend Troubles
We made it to D.C. in one piece (including the luggage carrier)!
On Thursday I left for Madison where I was supposed to stay the night and then head on to Brekken's house on Friday. I didn't get all of my stuff done in Washington so after I completed everything that I had to do in Athens I went to Madison to see Mel. That night she decided to come back with me to Washington to help me get my stuff done and to hang out!
When we got to Washington we went to Huddle House to grab some coffee. I new that I had not yet gotten the luggage carrier or finished up with a few other things. When we sat down I realized that my debit card was still in the Huddle House safe where it had been for a week! How could I have forgotten? Anyway... they can't open the safe at night due to security issues so they asked me to come back the next day. I was just excited that I had remembered and not gone off to camp without my card!!! Soon after that I realized that I had also forgotten to get Morgan's car parts which I was supposed to do the weekend before. Then I realized that I had also forgotten to get the tennis racket that I will be teaching with all summer from the Griggs. Ahhh!!!
So my short list of To Do items turned into a long list and it is a good thing that I went back to Washington and remembered all of that stuff! The next morning, Friday, I completed my list successfully and headed out of Washington for the second time.
We left this morning at 6:20AM for Washington D.C. and we got here at 4:00PM. Brekken's family asked us if we wanted to go to a baseball game with them but we opted out because we are all so tired!!!
To bed early for us tonight so we will be ready to go downtown tomorrow. I am told that the Spy Museum is the "dorky" place to go so I know I will have a blast!!!

Leaving
Tomorrow morning I will be leaving Washington at 9:30am. It is 12:24am right now and I have not packed my car, cleaned Grandma's house or tied down the luggage holder on top of my car.
The luggage holder thingy (not quite sure what it is called) is hanging in the barn right now. I am still not sure how I am going to get it down by myself but I am sure that I will figure it out! I also have to figure out how to get it securely strapped to the top of my car so that it will stay there until I can get to New Hampshire.
Wow... I can just see it now... we are driving along in the middle of Virginia when clothes and shoes go flying off the the top of my car! We stare on in a horror stricken state, not knowing what to do, as half of the much needed necessities for the summer are sprawled across the highway. Coming soon in a future blog!!!
Well I am going to go now to get some of these things done (hopefully). Please keep me in your prayers because I definitely need them!

Alone
When you are all alone you realize the importance of the people you care about!!! I take my friends and family for granted most of the time. God has placed people in my life that I would not change for the world! On the other hand, I think that God puts us in positions where we are alone to not only make us appreciate loved ones, but also to make us rely on Him completely!
When I don't have people around I don't have the option of finding someone to confide in...I go straight to God. I think that it is God's way of reminding us that we should always seek Him first and that He places people in our lives so that He can speak through them. When we start relying on actual people instead of what God has for us through them...that is where we go wrong.
Being a people person myself, this is very hard for me sometimes. The enemy just wants to swoop in and make me feel deserted! Sometimes I let him and that is wrong. I pray that I allow God to make me a stronger person in this area.

SCUBA cont...
This weekend was the last weekend to complete or dive certification! We started on Saturday with two dives and some quizzes. At the beginning of the day I set a goal to make our dive instructor (Mr. Man) laugh out loud 15 times. Now I took this task upon myself with the utmost seriousness. I had set a goal and I was going to make it!
Needless to say, at the end of the second dive I made him laugh for the fifteenth time. As I screamed, did a jig in the water, and threw myself backwards with sheer joy... he told me I was crazy but definitely continued laughing. After I calmed down (10 minutes later) I explained to him why I was so elated. He laughed some more... boy am I good!!!
Somewhere, though out the day on Saturday I managed to bust a blood vessel in my eyelid. When I asked Mr. Man about it today, he told me he had never heard of such a thing happening while diving but it was kinda crazy. The only thing that I could think of was that I must have done it while trying to equalize my ears. I have been pinching as much as possible and then just blowing really hard, hoping to make my ears pop. There was a consistent screaming in both ears every attempt that I made and it hurt. So naturally I assume that the blood vessel has something to do with that. My eyelid is now a pretty shade of purple and I have a lump that you can feel underneath the skin which used to be a blood vessel and is now two little pieces of useless tubing floating around just beneath the skin.
We finished up our last two dives today with success!!! We had a blast and mom and I are now certified divers!
I will definitely miss Mr. Man... he was a great instructor and is an awesome man. He also photographs weddings so I told him that if I ever get married I will definitely give him a call. Mr. Tyler said that Mr. Man might be dead by then but I am choosing to ignore that remark!!!

SCUBA
Last weekend was amazing!!! I have wanted to get certified to dive for almost seven years and I am now in the process of doing so. Last Saturday was the first time that I breathed under water and it was rugged!
We started the class by doing a lot of classwork. We had to listen to lessons and then get tested on them to make sure that we understand important things like not to die while diving! That afternoon we went to Doug's pool to have our first water session. Of course, I am setting up my gear and feeling totally cool when something goes wrong...it's inevitable!
I went to open my tank so that I could breathe the air so perfectly contained inside when I realized that there was no air in my tank at all. I yelled "Mr. Man!!!" (thats what I call the dive instructor) and he came over to help out. He was horrified that my tank had no air and apologized profusely. No big deal though... we just went in two groups and I used Morgan's tank when it came time. The first day went really well though and we were on our way to getting certified!!!
The only major problem that I have is that I can't equalize my ears...big problem in diving. The reason is that I can't pinch my nose because of the nose ring. I am trying to figure out a way to plug my nostrils through my mask from the bottom without actually pinching...it's not working very well!!!
The next day, Sunday, was our second day of water exercises! I had air this time!!! It was really hot outside so Morgs and I went ahead and jumped into the water. Mr. Man promptly told us that students aren't allowed in the water before him...he let us stay! Then he told us that we needed to swim the length of the pool 5 times so that he could see that we could swim well. As Morgs took off, I looked at Mr. Man and accused him of telling us to swim so that we would burn some energy and calm down (apparently we were a little hyper). Mr. Man slowly smiled and the busted out laughing as he told me I was a "smart one!"
Morgs and I then made up our own series of hand signals. Every time I went under the water I would end up smiling and letting a torrent of water come rushing into my mask. Smile and clear, smile and clear, smile and clear...etc. So we made up hand signals in the hopes that we could trick our brains into making our hands smile and laugh for us!
The diving session went great except that toward the end I was shaking violently from being so cold and Mr. Man cut the session a little short because I was chattering so hard and turning blue. It took me awhile to warm back up!
At the end Mr. Man told Morgs and I that he usually splits friends up concerning dive partners but we were just way too entertaining!!!

My Travels
So I have not told y'all about trip from Texas to Georgia with the Tampa extension. I will start from the beginning.
Mom and I pulled out around 9 am on Thursday morning expecting to be in Georgia at 10 pm the same night. We moved on our way fairly quickly and were excited to be on our way. Two hours later, mom was driving as we feel a shudder and a slight bang coming fron the trailer that we were pulling. We were in the far left lane when the trailer tire blew so mom went careening across three lanes of traffic to end up on the right shoulder. Great way to start off the trip!
We got out all of the equipment to change a tire and settled down to our task hoping that it would go smoothly and quickly. No such luck! Neither mom nor I could even budge a single lug nut. What to do? We called Jimmy. As dad and Jimmy were trying to figure out what to do mom and I took another shot at the lug nuts. We found that if I pulled and she pushed that we could do it together. We were on our way to success. Then my jack would only lift the trailer a little because my car sits lower than the trailer does. We pulled off the old tire and tried to put the new one on. It went on just fine but the lug nut holes (don't know what they are called) did not line up with the tire because the trailer wasn't lifted high enough. First I tried standing on the opposite side of the trailer to lift it...it did not work! Then mom went to stand on the opposite side and the outcome was the same. Next we tried lifting the same side of the trailer but because we both couldnt lift at the same time and neither of us could do it by ourselves we were facing the horrible face of defeat.
Mom decided that we should unhook the trailer to get a little more lift by setting down the front of the trailer. We couldnt find a knife to cut the zip tie off of the latch. As we were about to go insane, a nice man in a big truck walked around the corner of my car and scared me so bad I almost...well I will spare you the details!!! He asked if we needed any help and I very quickly in a crisp voice said yes. It was almost a reflex action instead of a grateful oh yes thank you so much! I was just so unnerved by his quick appearance that I didnt have time to think. Within 10 minutes the tire was on and we were on our way.
We decided to go ahead and stop to have the other tire put on because they were the same age and condition and we did not want to go through that again. By this time we were already over an hour behind. Then one of the straps holding the hovercraft down snapped so we had to stop and buy a new one.
We were fianlly on the road again, hoping that nothing else would go wrong. Thirty minutes down the road we hit a HUGE storm. The rain was coming down so hard I could not even see the car in front of me unless he hit the brakes. We pulled over underneath a bridge because mom thought that the hover had slipped to one side. Mom was wearing jeans and I was wearing boxers so it was logical that I go and check because I would dry quicker. By the time I got back into the car, even with the overhang, I was soaked through and through. The hover was stable enough to move on. We went to pull onto the road again when a man in a truck, without his lights on so we couldnt see him, almost killed us as we tried to get on the highway.
On we went on our travel through Oz when we had to stop a little later to lift the hover back into its designated spot on the trailer. We decided not to stop for dinner and to keep driving because it was so late. Mom hit another terrible storm in Atlanta and then we were home, safe and sound...at 3:45AM on Friday!!!!!!!!!!
At around 10 on Thursday night, Morgan called me and asked me if I wanted to ride the final leg of the hovercrafts trip with Doug down to Tampa, Florida. Sure, why not!!!
So when we got here at 3:45 I took a shower, read a newspaper and was off again with the hover and Doug on an 8 hour drive to Tampa. Mind you, I did not sleep at all that night or all the day while Doug and I drove. The trip down was, thankfully, uneventful! As we got closer, the inevitable meeting with the Russian who bought the hover was approaching. We discussed the man thoroughly and I had even decided what he looked like. We met him a few blocks from his shop to follow him in. It looked just like a chop shop from the movies I swear!!!
The man started to try to unload the hover when Doug very calmy said "hey buddy...I am going to need to see the money first!" Good idea!!! We unloaded and it was actually very uneventful as well. On the way there we had decided that we were going to find a beach and go swimming even if it meant that we had to stay in disgusting, salty water for the rest of the day. First, we stooped to eat though. I went into Ruby Tuesdays in yet another pair of boxers and a t-shirt (basically my pajamas) and ate dinner! The closest beach was 30 minutes in the wrong direction...we skipped the swimming.
Doug drove a thousand miles per hour the whole way so naturally we had to have a police scare. The cop pulled out to follow us but, we had to get gas anyway, we pulled off fully expecting him to follow and went to the nearest gas station. The cop continued on and pulled somebody else over...sigh of relief!!!!
We got back at 12:00am and I promptly went to sleep. By the time we got back, both of us had a sore throat because we had talked from 6am to 12am. Did I mention the he is hysterical so we did a lot of laughing as well!!!
Well that concludes the traveling horrors and later I will let you know about the SCUBA adventures!!!

Misconceptions
Pertaining to one of my previous posts I am going to address some misconceptions from all of the people that posted comments! I posted about the implications that dating can have on one's life and how we should learn from the Christian adults around us on the subject. I never said that dating was wrong!!!!!!!!! I said that dating AROUND and sexual interaction is not portrayed in the Bible as God's plan for our lives.
Yes, they did sell their children so to speak. I did not advocate courting at all or even address not dating at all! What I said was that dating everyone that you could find before you are serious about settling down and listening to God's plan for your life should not happen. We always say "but if I don't date how will I find my spouse?" The truth, when we say that we are saying that God is not big enough to tell us when the right man or woman comes along. Instead we take it into our own hands and try to run our lives instead of allowing God to use us in the way that He desires.
I have never said that I would not date. My parents have never said that I can't date. Even so, my sisters made a personal choice to court. The implication of courting is completely off from what it really is or can be. The main ideal in courting is to put God at the center of the relationship. My sisters chose not to put themselves in a position where something physical could happen. This is not saying that we tied them up and kept them at opposites of the room at all times! They just didn't go places for long periods of time alone. We all have emotions and I am sure that everyone has done something that they wouldnt have done normally because of high emotions.

Leaving on a Jet Plane
Mom and I are leaving in 2.5 seconds but I thought that I would post something really fast since I have been neglecting this lately! We have a 15 hour drive ahead of us! Mom just came in and said lets go so I will post for real later.

Update on the Sardines
So far things have been great. No fighting (except Ben and Maggie), no tension and no stress! We are a family full of love...we should have lived in the 50's! By this time next week half of us will be gone. Kinda a sad thought! I will miss my family so much this summer. I learn to appreciate each of them more and more every day. I can't believe how close we are and what a great time we always have. Some of the things that I found so annoying as a child are now only endearing to me. I can't imagine being in a family different then ours.
If you have never experienced a family life like mine I am truly sorry. I would encourage you to find and "adopt" a family if you have had wounding in that area. I would be happy to offer the use of mine. Only $100 a day! Haha...no, we have lended out the use of our family to as many people as possible. That has definitely been God's blessing on and through this family. We are able to share what God has given us to others. It is amazing the way God blesses different people in different ways so that we can all benefit eachother.
I am truly going to miss my family this summer!!!
I leave on Thursday next week for Georgia. I am excited about seeing some of the "old" friends and hanging out with the family there. Mom and I are staying with Grandma and Grandpa and I am so excited to see them. Mmmhmmm, Grandma's cookin (I should open a restaurant with that name)! I know what you are thinking. You think that your Grandma can cook better than mine but that is where you are wrong my friend. If you have any doubts I am sure that I can arrange for you to sample the little sliver of heaven. Here I am going on about my Grandma but my Grandpa does not fall in her shadow. He can fix ANYTHING and I am sure that he can do it better than you!
All in all...THE BEST FAMILY EVER!!!

Squished in Like Sardines
Things are really crazy here right now. Imagine... a three bedroom apartment with 10 people from MY family in it all at once. Yeah, I know!!! We are having such a blast...things are a little insane but that is to be expected. The nice thing is that is sorta feels like living in a dorm. The showers are disgusting, the dishes are always dirty, there is always too much noise, the food is forever running in short supply but there is always someone here to do something with. I love living in dorms so for me this, with my fabulous family, is a dream come true. So maybe I am exaggerating a little but, aside from a little tension every now and then, we are all having a great time. If any family could live like this it would definitely be ours.
Noelle, Jon and I went and worked out tonight. I went to the gym and they went running (messed up knee thing). There were two guys at the gym who were clearly not there to work out. As I walked in the were yelling and screaming at the TV because San Antonio had just scored another basket (clearly Dallas fans). Who goes to the gym to watch basketball? Anyway, they were pretty nice aside from the continued yelling and swearing as the game went into overtime. One of the guys asked me out as I was dripping in sweat and about to fall over. Nice!

Tired and thinking a lot!
God has been speaking a lot of stuff into my life and it is awesome! I am so grateful for Christian friends who are there to support me and love me when things aren't going as they should (or as I think they should).
I have felt unusually heavy lately. I don't know what is wrong with me but I feel like I am carrying a huge burden. Is it mine? I am not sure! I need to pray about it and see if I am supposed to be praying for someone in particular. I am tired. I do know that! A long vacation is the ticket. Too bad I can't afford that ticket...oh well!!!
Camp! It is just around the corner. Oh but I can't wait. I am so excited to see my girls!!!
I made a B in chemistry!!! I can't believe it myself. I am so glad to be done with that subject never to revisit again! Now I can move on to this fall when I will be taking 21 hours and crying myself to sleep at night! No, it won't be that bad. I will be putting in a whole lot of study hours everyday though!
Have you ever wondered why we surround ourselves with awesome, wise, Christian adults and then don't listen to their wisdom? Why even find those people who we respect and look up to if we do not take their advise and learn from them?
I have never, in my life, heard a married couple say "man, I am so glad that I slept around with all of those people and dated so many individuals when I was younger...it has really helped my marriage!" No, of course they don't say those things! It doesn't even make sense. Every Godly couple that I know will tell you that they wish they had not given little pieces of their hearts to so many people thus not saving everything for his or her spouse.
If a person really believes in love and an everlasting marriage with a "soulmate," how can that same person be attaching soul ties to half of the town?
God can restore someone's heart completely for his or her spouse but there will always be consequences for actions. I can't expect God to restore my heart for my spouse if I am dating everybody I can find up until the day that I meet the person that I am going to marry! That's like planning to steal something and also planning to ask forgiveness afterwards. We, as a society, need to stop being so naive and pretending that we don't know about the baggage carried into marriages because of past relationships!
We do know about it if we surround ourselves with Godly, married couples! So either you know what you are doing and choosing to mess with your heart or you need to find yourself some good adults!!!

I'm ill!
I am finally done with my chemistry class. I think that I made a bad grade but oh well...I did my best! I am just so glad that it is over. I figured once school was done that I could relax, smell the roses, but as soon as I was done with finals (last night) I got sick (this morning). I am very ill and I should probably be in bed! Oh well!!!
This week I plan to start concentrating on my new home based business! I am doing very well so far and might even promote two levels before I leave for camp! Keep your fingers crossed. I can't wait until I can devote more time to the business. Unfortunately I leave for camp in a few weeks! Don't get me wrong...I LOVE camp but this is just not good timing for starting a business that needs some of my attention! God has everything all worked out so I will just trust Him and I know that everything will work out!
I leave for Georgia in three weeks! I am so excited to see all of my friends that I have not seen in ages! My mom and I are getting certified the first two weekends so that will be kinda crazy but other than that I dont have any set plans. Thats nice!!!

Hair
Tragically, my straightening iron has officially decided that it is out of commission. This means that I am now Shirley Temple (yet not quite as young, cute or curly)!!! In other words, my hair has returned to it's original state of having many disulfide bonds thus causing my hair to be...curly!
One would probably ask "why don't you go and buy a new straightening iron?" Well, I just can't seem to have the desire to go and spend money for the iron when I have bills, a trip coming up and gas ($3.00-$3.10 out here) to pay for.
I will take pictures in the next few days so that you can see what it looks like. My hair is now more curly that Jeny's was in high school.
We are having a blast with the girls!!! They are so wonderful and such a joy to be around. We will have them all week while Noelle goes to her conference. Because Noelle is leaving for four days we were going to hang out tonight. Yeah....didn't work out! Oh well!!!
Finals are coming up within the next week. The only one that I am worried about is Chemistry but my teacher loves me and I have worked really hard so hopefully I will pull the grade that I need!

Lately
I am soo excited...Noelle is on her way here right now. I will get to hang out with a bf and see my two favorite nieces (they are my only nieces but you know)!!! Today is a crazy day and I can't believe that I am taking the time to blog. I have a trillion things to do!!! I can't wait until next Tuesday night when I will be finished with everything...and I mean everything. All I will have to do before I leave for the summer is teach at Clariden, work, get tan, work out to hopefully drop a few pounds and lay around. I have an odd feeling that I won't actually lay around because I was born a Sutton and that's not how we roll...haha!

Self Improvement
Tonight I shaved my legs, plucked my eyebrows and painted my toenails! Now I know what you are thinking..."what wedding are you going to?" Mine!!! Just kidding! No, I started with shaving my legs and it just escalated from there. I don't think that I have performed this much hygienic work on myself since senior prom three years ago. This cause for celebration will probably not occur for yet another three years. Well since this is the most exciting thing happening in my life I will not elaborate on anything else for fear of ruining my triumph of womanly horrors.

I think that, in the past few weeks, I have been so stressed that all of my creativity has slowly crept out of my body until I am now completely at a loss as to what to write. You see, usually I just sit down and type and it seems that my personality just flows onto the screen. Now, when I sit down to type, my fingers protest in a weird sort of rigid way and my brain says "NO...STOP, YOU ARE TORTURING ME!"
When I first sat down I tried to make up some lame, yet somewhat interesting, story or something but my brain and fingers would not connect thus here is all that you get! In the next few weeks things will calm down and I will return to my normal way of writing. As for now, I am sorry if you are reading this!

Ahhh
Wow...things have been crazy in my life the last few days!!! I have had a lot of struggles lately and God is teaching me about trusting in Him instead of in myself. But I tell you....Satan is THE evil one and he can definitely throw some punches...or little taps continuously which is just as bad! God gave me a cool passage the other night and if you are struggling with being attacked it is very encouraging! The passage is in the first part of the first chapter in James! Check it out...it's good stuff!!!

My Favorite Part of My Face

This is for all of you who are terrified to see my face because you think that nose rings are sooo gross. This way you will be prepared when you see me face to face! Morgan took this picture while Summer was driving Mom's truck! Morgan, Summer and I had so much fun while they were here...I can't wait until they come back (hint hint)...haha!!!
Pigs Can Fly!
The unthinkable, unimaginable, impossible, not likely in the slightest way has happened!!! I made a 92 on my last chem test. Yeah I know...I didn't think it was possible either. I am officially sitting with a decent B and looking to hold it through the end of this phase of torment in my life.
I spent the entire class period tonight picking off the chunks of skin that are now loosely attached to my face. Yeah... the sun burn! You might ask" what were you thinking?!?" But I would answer "its not everyday that you meet an intellectual individual that actually enjoys talking about current affairs." That's why I was at the pool so long. I met this woman who was really cool and she, mom and I talked for an extra 1 1/2 hours after we would have left!
Anyway, I am paying for it and the fresh meat that is under the dried junks is, well, slightly tender. Right now I look like Rudolph because the only thing that has peeled is my nose and the flesh underneath was not meant to see the environment for a few more months when my surface cells had slowly fallen off.
It's like having a baby too early...it might not want to face the elements so soon. It is a cold burning feeling that permeates my nose. Thankfully the skin underneath is still dark (just means that I burned really deep) so I won't look like an idiot in a few days with white patches all over my face.

Ouch
So I am burned to a crisp!!! It actually doesn't hurt at all so I am hoping that it will just turn brown and not start to come off in nasty brown chunks of skin! Really just my face is bright red...the rest of my body isn't so bad.
I was talking to a good friend of mine last night and I realized that finals are 2 WEEKS AWAY!!! How could I have missed that? Now I am terrified! I am going to try to pull a B in both of my classes and for those of you who know me really well...I am not usually shooting for B's. Wow, I guess this is what a community college does to you....brings down your GPA...quite strange!
I also have to teach dance, Spanish and Music classes for the next few weeks until the real teachers can take over. I don't dance, I can't speak Spanish and I can't read music or play a musical instrument. This should be fun!

Life
Things are pretty boring around here lately! I am working for Champion Services watching Em again which I am soo excited about. Other than that I am just trying to get through this semester without failing...haha (but really!) I miss my sisters terribly (I love you both) and I want to see my nieces and nephew. Wow... all I am doing is complaining so I am going to stop writing now. Things really are not bad at all...just slow!
