The BIG Chicken

This is for all of you who have never been to Georgia and therefore don't know what the big chicken is! The black part of its eye (pupil) rotates in circles and its beak opens and closes. Everybody was so disappointed in 1999-2000 because it had to be rebuilt due to tornado damage! This is the new one but the old was a darker red and looked really old and was much cooler! Also, the old Big Chicken was a boy and now, to be politically correct, the new one is a girl...ridiculous!!!

These are SOOO true!!!

Atlanta...(I miss you...)
This is for anyone who lives in Atlanta, who has ever lived in Atlanta, has ever visited Atlanta, ever plans to visit Atlanta, knows anyone who already lives in Atlanta, or knows anyone who has ever heard of Atlanta, Georgia. Atlanta is composed mostly of one-way streets.

The only way to get out of downtown Atlanta is to turn around and start over when you reach Greenville, South Carolina.

All directions start with, "Go down Peachtree" and include the phrase, "When you see the Waffle House."

Except that in Cobb County, all directions begin with, "Go to the Big Chicken."

Peachtree Street has no beginning and no end and is not to be confused with:
Peachtree Circle
Peachtree Place
Peachtree Lane
Peachtree Road
Peachtree Parkway
Peachtree Run
Peachtree Terrace
Peachtree Avenue
Peachtree Commons
Peachtree Battle
Peachtree Corners
New Peachtree
Old Peachtree
West Peachtree
Peachtree-Dunwoody
Peachtree-Chamblee
Peachtree Industrial Boulevard

Atlantans only know their way to work and their way home.

If you ask anyone for directions they will always send you down Peachtree.

Atlanta is the home of Coca-Cola. That's all they drink there, so don't ask for any other soft drink unless it's made by Coca-Cola.

Gate One at Atlanta's Hartsfield International Airport is 32 miles away from the Main
Concourse, so wear sneakers and pack a lunch.

The 8am rush hour is from 6:30 to 10:30 AM.

The 5pm rush hour is from 3:00 to 7:30 PM.Friday's rush hour starts Thursday afternoon and lasts through 2am Saturday.

A native can only pronounce Ponce De Leon Avenue, so do not attempt the silly Spanish pronunciation. People will simply tilt their heads to the right and stare at you. The Atlanta pronunciation is "pawns duhLEE-on".

The falling of one raindrop causes all drivers to immediately forget all traffic rules.

If a single snowflake falls, the city is paralyzed for three days and it's on all the channels as a news flash every 15 minutes for a week. All grocery stores will be sold out of milk, bread, bottled water, toilet paper, and beer.

I-285, the loop that encircles Atlanta that has a posted speed limit of 55 mph (but you have to maintain 80 mph just to keep from getting run over), is known to truckers as "The Watermelon 500."

Don't believe the directional markers on highways. I-285 is marked "East" and "West" but you may be going "North" or "South".

The locals identify the direction by referring to the "Inner Loop" and the "Outer Loop".

If you travel on Hwy 92 North, you will actually be going southeast.

Never buy a ladder or mattress in Atlanta. Just go to one of the interstates and you will soon find one in the middle of the road.

The last thing you want to do is give another driver the finger, unless your car is armored, your trigger finger is itchy and your AK-47 has a full clip.

Possums sleep in the middle of the road with their feet in the air.

There are 5,000 types of snakes and 4,998 live in Georgia.

There are 10,000 types of spiders. All 10,000 live in Georgia, plus a couple no one has seen before.

If it grows, it sticks. If it crawls, it bites.

It is not a shopping cart, it is a buggy.

"Fixinto" is one word (I'm fixinto go to the store).

Sweet Tea is appropriate for all meals and you start drinking it when you're 2 years old.

Don't ask for un-sweet tea unless you want people to think there is something wrong with you.

"Jeet?" is actually a phrase meaning "Did you eat?"

If you understand these jokes, forward them to your friends from Atlanta, Georgia and those who just wish they were.

A Nightmare?

I had this crazy dream about a chemistry test! I went into a classroom and sat down to take a test. There were 40 questions on it but it was okay because I had studied really hard. I was looking at the questions and all of a sudden the words started to blend together and I could not make any sense of it. I did not recognize many of the symbols or words that were on the pages. As I went down the scan tron and said eanie meanie meinie moe (I think that's how you spell that) I said to myself "wow its as if you didn't even study." But maybe I didn't! Maybe I dreamed that I studied!

Based on a true story!!!

A Hard Question for This Week!

I would like you to think about this question before you answer to understand all of the ramifications of the situation!

Would you marry a man that you knew could die any day from a chronic disease?

It takes an amazing woman to follow through with a wedding under these circumstances. I truly respect any woman in this situation and she deserves great honor!!!

Niagara Falls

God has been dealing with my issue about crying the last few weeks. I have not been able to do so since I can remember. Even when I would try I would not be able to because of my hate for crying. Or should I say hated because I am having to get used to it whether I like it or not. A few weeks ago I spoke with a man who is very dear to me. I poured out everything to him and, in doing so, cried like I have never cried before...ever!!! He prayed over me that I would be able to express emotions through tears. God gave us tears for a reason and that reason is not to feel weak! Since then I have teared up over EVERYTHING. I am not openly crying all of the time (that would be kinda weird) but I have found that God has given me the ability to cry when I need to do so. What a great thing that God has given us too be able to instantly feel better after a downpour!!!

Worship Craziness!!!

Wow, night of worship at CFNI was amazing last night! There is this Bible college in Dallas called Christ for the Nations and once a month they have a "Night of Worship." They had their annual recording last night and it was awesome. Tons of people crazy about God...need I say more? Okay I will! You know the analogy of why don't Christians get as excited at church as they do at football games? Well I have never seen a football game this insane! It lasted for hours and everybody was sad to see it end. A cool thing that happened was that in the middle of a song the girl next to me (no I didn't know her) put her hand on my back and started praying for me. I couldn't hear her but when things got quite for a minute she told me that she felt that God had led her to pray for me. She prayed that I would have the anointing of Jesus Christ this year and she felt that God had placed it on her heart to pray that over me. Cool stuff!!! I am definitely going back next month!
