So right now I am battling two major corporations over stupid things that they should fix for me. I know that sounds a little one sided but I am... one sided that is!
The engine computer in my 2007 Toyota has decided not to work anymore. Does that seem a little ridiculous to anyone but me?! I do not have an old car my friends and for the thing to just stop working is not right. They are trying to tell me that there is nothing that they can do about it and that I need to cough up over $1000 to fix it. With all the problems that Toyota is having you would think that they would help me out a little but no...they are not going to do so. Anyway, my car is now a very expensive lawn ornament.
Now for the gym... they are trying to tell me that I never froze my lifetime membership and that because I did not pay my dues this past fall my membership is cancelled. Now here is the thing, they claim to have mailed a bill to the address on file but Mom and Dad never got a letter. We asked if I can just backpay the dues and they said no. The frustrating part is that I did freeze me account over the phone so I have no proof that I did so. Dad is going to write the CEO and get it figured out but in the meantime he bought me a two year subscription to the gym....yay!!!
I hate major corporations!!!

Texas Here I Am
Well I am in Texas now with my love. I came a week early and have been here since Monday. Things are strange because I feel so unsettled right now but I am working on getting all of our stuff squared away. I just finished changing all the addresses on our bills and I have a few more things to do in that area (licenses, tags etc). I am trying to slowly go through all of our stuff so that it can go back into storage but neatly this time.
One of the great things about Texas is my gym. Oh how I love the gym. I have already worked back up to swimming a mile and it felt glorious. I took the day off today because my pelvis is falling apart (see minime.blogspot.com for details) and I think that it needs a break. I will be back tomorrow though.

Alone
So Doug left for Texas on Tuesday and I am now all alone.... well as alone as you can be when there are still five people in the house. I am sad though. This is the longest that we will be apart hopefully ever! I won't follow him for a month. He is trying to find a job out there while I still have to finish up mine here.
I think that I am feeling more sad because I know it will be such a long time before we see each other. We have been apart for over a week several times but never this long. I told my cousin the other day (her husband is in the military) that I had no idea how she did it... not sure that I am cut out for that. Military is still on the list as a backup option is the firefighter thing does not work out though. We will see if I can survive that.... haha!

Move
To all of my avid readers (thanks Dad):
We are moving to Texas for a career/life switch! Doug will be going into the firefighter program this fall pending acceptance. If not... military?

Hugs and...
Today has been a fantastic day. All peace and bliss... just a pleasant day at work. As the day progressed the thought occurred to me that I would hate for anything to mess up this glorious day.
When Sharon brought in the rest of the Valentines decorations my bliss was shattered. Ever since she arrived I have had one hundred tiny voices screaming at me from just a measly three feet away. Now if your first thought is that at the very least this is distracting, you could not be more correct in your assumptions.
How to ignore the bleating from the bowl on the counter? I have no answer my friends for my will power has failed seven times already and I am not sure that I am as strong of a person as I once thought... as in less than an hour ago.
I am determined that I will not be overtaken by the shiny, beautifully wrapped, decadent little morsel mob again for the rest of the day....week....month....

Sweet Slumber
Yesterday I rode to class with Doug so that afterward we could go see his dad in the hospital at MCG. I had to get up at 6:10 and was determined to go back to sleep as soon as we got to the school parking lot. Only problem was that the temperature was 14 degrees when we left!
My solution to the problem... bring our whole duvet with down comforter insert. I figured that even if it was freezing outside that, without wind, I would be warm enough. I also wore two jackets, a scarf, one glove (couldnt find the other one), jeans, knee high thermal socks and decided not to take off my shoes.
As I nestled down with all of my gear in preparation to sleep, a beautiful lullaby began to play to softly rocking me into blissful sleep. It went something like this.... thud thud thud...thud thud thud!
Someone parked near my spot and had rap music playing extremely loud with the base all the way. After several minutes the guy must have gone into class (late as it was 8:10) and I was left alone again. A few more minutes passed and I realized that I could not sleep because I was too warm.....WHAT?!
Okay... so I did have a lot of clothing on but come on... it was freeeeeeezzzzing outside. Off came the overcoat and scarf and I settled back down. After another few minutes my foot started to fall asleep so I switched sides and repositioned. As soon as I was dozing off again the baby decided to start doing belly flops and supermans. Great!
I did eventually fall asleep and slept very soundly. Surprisingly I had to take off all of my excess clothing because I was so warm even though it was so cold. Guess we made a good purchase in that bedding... or maybe the Lord made the car warm for me!!!

The Lords Blessing part 2
So I just found out that we are receiving Pell Grant again this quarter! Isn't it funny how the Lord works. I wrote that post this morning giving praise to God for a good day and now I can praise the Lord for a fantastic day!!! We will now be able to go to Texas for the birth! No hospitals for me!!!
The Lords Blessings
The problem that we, as Christians, have is that we expect the Lord to give us all the great things that we can think of and then we are disappointed when things don't go as planned. The Lord promises His blessings...not ours!
Our expectations of the Lord are not grounded in the Word.
We have a scale from -10 to 10... -10 being the worst day possible and 10 being the best day possible. We expect our day to be at 0 or better known as a "normal" day. If anything bad happens we dub the day a bad one ie. can't find a parking space for 5 minutes. Unless something out of the ordinary that is good happens we think of the day as a normal day. Why do we think that we deserve a "normal" day? The truth is we don't!
If we placed our expectations below the line (-1 or -2) then when we have a routine day at the office we would see it as a blessing! How much more would we enjoy life if a routine day was viewed as a great day?
When did we decide that we deserve for everything to go perfectly everyday? When did we decide that we know what a perfect day is? When did we decide that we know what is best for our lives long-term?
Who gave us the right to tell the Lord what His blessing should be?
