Day Before Thanksgiving

Every year we make crafts for thanksgiving. Usually it is mostly for the kids but this year we all chipped in and did a bunch of crafts! Sorry I don't have any pictures of the finished products!

When the Griggs came out to TX for Thanksgiving (I know I am blogging REALLY late) we went out for lunch and to do a little shopping!

After lunch we took the kids to a candy store where they each got to pick out 3 things. Brennah picked a super sour something or other and we all had a piece. Here are the reactions!

Yes... that was a cramp in my cheek!

No reaction! Lame!!!

After lunch and candy we went to Backwoods. Findlay went missing about 10 minutes after we got there. Everyone was looking all around trying not to freak out when Mom found him OUTSIDE!!! I went to talk to him about people stealing him, dying etc. and told him that if he wanted to go outside he needs to say "Aunt Nonnie, can you please take me outside?"

He promptly hopped up and went running for the front door to go back inside. As soon as we got inside he turned to me and said "Aunt Nonnie, can you please take me outside?" Too cute!

After I had taken him out for awhile he asked Grammy to take him out for awhile. He found a new pet that he named Freddie!

Gluten/Dairy Free

I am now exploring tasty recipes in the GF/DF world. Talon will have to be gluten and dairy free for his whole life. I decided that eating things that taste good and not making Talon feel like he is "different" is very important to me! I want him to grow up getting to eat good cake, icecream, bread etc. like everyone else!

I am adding a new page that will contain all of my favorite gluten/dairy free recipes. First I will post what I made on the main page just for fun and then I will add it to the recipe "archive."

My first attempt at biscuits... not even putting the recipe up!!! I started with a flour mix and decided that I won't be using mixes anymore. Not because there are not any good ones but because the homemade stuff just tastes better!!!

Just a little flat!

This was a cake mix. The filling in the middle was a gluten free icing mix and the actual icing was homemade. It was not a terrible cake... although I was not excited to eat it! Again... homemade is better!

Homemade Cleaners

I am now making my own homemade cleaners. I have started with disinfectant and laundry soap... I am about to make general cleaner and toilet soap as well!
